: SCHOOL PLAYERS Q&A: J.D. Dupree Washington & Lee University Q: What does the saying “it’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game” mean to you?JD: It means that winning and losing is how you react to the situation you face. If you are the winning team then you celebrate. If you lose then you reflect and try to learn from the mistakes that were made. It’s easy to get caught up in winning and losing. If you are a Christian then you’re supposed to strive to play your best every time you go out on the field. God put you there so it’s a privilege to play. Q: What have you done this summer to stay focused and ready for fall ball?JD: I’ve worked out and stayed in shape. I also had the luxury of being able to spend some time in Nashville, Tennessee and go to Tennessee State University for a little while and work out with a quarterback and receiver at the school. There’s nothing like being around NFL athletes and meeting NFL athletes. It makes you feel like you’re on the same level as they are, when you are. Q: Are you excited about what W&L has to offer as a program and fans?JD: I am very excited about this program and the direction it is going. We want to build on what has been built in the past and this is my first year on campus. I have a great staff that is going to make things fun for the fans and make the game enjoyable to play. It is going to be exciting. I also like the atmosphere of the Colonnade in the afternoon during football season. Q: If you were to be involved in any sort of special event during the 2009 football season, what would it be?JD: There are a lot of big events happening here in Lexington. I’m looking forward to all of them. I want to be involved in some of them. I can’t say what events I will or won’t be able to do. It’s all up to my schedule. I know I’ll be able to be around for some of them. Q: In your opinion, how good can the 2009 football team be?JD: I believe that
